The Teaching

The yoga teaching is an wholistic approach taken from differing aspects of yoga; aimed at awakening the ‘buddhi’, or discriminating part of one’s Being. As such it can be termed ‘Buddhi Yoga’ ~ “I awaken those who are dedicated to ‘underlying Consciousness’ and who aspire to go deeper in understanding into Buddhi Yoga: in this way, they are enabled to Realise My Nature” ~ Bhagavad Gita verse 10:10

The Iyengar yoga approach is physically based, focusing attention on bodily alignment, to bring balance, right and left, inner and outer. Ashtanga yoga contributes the ‘vinyasa’, or linking together of postures; creating a more flowing sequence and minimising interruptions or obstructions to the mental and energetic processes. Sivananda and Satyananda yoga look at the individual; allowing for rest and relaxation, both during the physical practice and especially the breathing, pranayama and yoga nidra aspects, taking us deeper into conscious awareness.

Through bringing attention to breathing, bodily awareness and the etheric body we can discover who we really are … and that is a joyful discovery!
